NAGPUR NEWS : The Abhyankar Nagar Durga Utsav Mandal and Mahalaxmi Welfare Society organized a grand Maha Aarti of Goddess Jagdamba today, led by eminent women achievers referred to as Navdurga representing diverse fields of society. The ceremony was conducted with deep devotion and cultural splendor, in the presence of office-bearers from both organizing bodies.
The event celebrated women’s empowerment and contribution across sectors. Honorees included women sanitation ambassadors of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, women police officers and staff, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, women doctors and nurses, female employees of Nagpur Metro, women writers, social and political activists, and members of cultural organizations who have made a remarkable impact in their fields.
This innovative initiative, started last year by the Mahalaxmi Welfare Society, aims to recognize and honor women who embody strength, compassion, and leadership Symbolizing the living forms of Goddess Durga in modern society.
Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Thakre, President of the Mahalaxmi Welfare Society, said, “During Navratri, we worship Goddess Jagdamba in her divine forms. Similarly, these dedicated women serve the community with the same spirit of motherhood and strength. Honoring them is a way of saluting womanhood itself. They are the true ‘Navdurga’ of our times.”
The event drew enthusiastic participation from devotees and residents, making the Navratri celebration at Abhyankar Nagar a memorable blend of spirituality, gratitude, and empowerment.
