Nagpur News : Emergency Medical Room to Open Soon at Itwari Station, Boosting Passenger Safety

Nagpur News : Rail passengers have reason to cheer, as an Emergency Medical Room (EMR) will soon be set up at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari Railway Station. Proposed for a five-year term under Railway Board guidelines, the new facility aims to provide immediate first-aid support during medical emergencies and significantly enhance passenger safety. The initiative is being implemented under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Kumar Gupta and the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dilip Singh.

Itwari is one of the busiest stations in the Nagpur Division of the South East Central Railway, with thousands of passengers using it daily. A large number of patients also travel to Nagpur for treatment—particularly on the Rewa–Itwari trains (11754 and 11756). With this in mind, the EMR will offer much-needed medical support within the station premises.

The medical room will be staffed by trained doctors from a reputed city hospital. Passengers falling ill during travel will receive prompt first aid, while senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and women passengers will benefit from quick medical attention. The facility will also offer basic health check-ups during peak hours and ensure immediate emergency intervention whenever required.

DRM Deepak Kumar Gupta expressed confidence that the EMR will provide timely relief to passengers, especially those travelling for medical needs, while SDCM Dilip Singh said the initiative marks a major step forward in strengthening emergency services at Itwari station.
