Nagpur News : Indian Institute of Management Nagpur held its 10th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, where a total of 443 students were awarded degrees. The ceremony highlighted the institute’s continued progress in management education, executive education, research and international academic collaboration. The graduating batch included 347 students from the MBA 2024–26 programme, 95 students from the Executive MBA programmes at Nagpur and Pune, and one Executive PhD scholar. Notably, the institute also conferred its first-ever Executive PhD (Acharya) degree this year.
The convocation ceremony was attended by Sajjan Jindal, Chairman of JSW Group, as the Chief Guest, while Deven J. Mehta, Chairman of Sigma Capital Limited, attended as the Guest of Honour. IIM Nagpur Director Bhimaraya Metri, Board of Governors Chairman C. P. Gurnani, members of the Board of Governors and faculty members were also present on the dais. Two students from France also received degrees after completing the institute’s international dual-degree programme.
Addressing the graduating students, Sajjan Jindal said great leadership is not built only in high-profile boardroom decisions, but through countless small decisions taken consistently over the years.
Drawing a comparison with tennis legend Roger Federer and his effortless-looking backhand, Jindal said true excellence appears simple only because of years of discipline, practice and continuous improvement behind it. He urged students to lead with integrity, courage and patriotism, stating that India needs leaders who can not only envision the future but also build it.
Guest of Honour Deven J. Mehta advised students to carry four core values throughout their professional and personal journeys — integrity, hard work, trust and courage. He also stressed the importance of staying positive and humble despite success. The institute recorded six international placement offers this year and achieved its highest annual package of ₹73.17 lakh, with participation from over 250 companies, including multinational corporations, leading Indian firms and public sector enterprises. During the ceremony, several students were honoured for academic excellence and all-round performance, including Prashant Gupta, who received the IIM Nagpur Gold Medal and the ₹5 lakh G. H. Raisoni Merit Award for best academic performance in the MBA programme.
